Pssst, the secret password is “orange juice.” This Thursday night, party like it's 1929 and head out to the picturesque Muckenthaler Cultural Center for their speakeasy-themed fundraising event dubbed “The Golden Scarab Club.” Word has it that this gin join, previously run by the late mob-boss “Fingers” Velasco, is under new management—and supposedly they have a bountiful supply of fine “coffee” for thirsty patrons. There's live music from Brad Kay and Those Syncopating Songbirds (better start practicing your Charleston) and gambling, er, “games of chance” to keep you entertained. So break out the '20-style costumes, bob your hair or dust off the fedora—because a little party never killed nobody.
