Ah, the halcyon days of 1945, when national spirit was high and people were truly proud to be American. The war had just ended with our enemies defeated. The Great Depression was over. Women were still wearing fashionable hats—it was a glorious time to be alive. Sadly, we were born too late and missed out on all the shenanigans. But all is not lost! This weekend, step back in time to celebrate America’s greatest generation by mingling with World War II re-enactors, watching as era vehicles putt down the boulevard, and participate in a USO dance on an old ship! Live entertainment is provided by the Best Swing Vocal Ensemble, The Stardust Trip with the Sentimental Sisters, and The Lindy Sisters. Say, “What’s buzzin’, cousin?” and cut a ducky shinracker at the Queen Mary’s Spirit of ’45 Festival this weekend.
