When one is strung out, it usually refers to suffering from a long-term drug addiction—but California punk band Strung Out has conveniently side-stepped the embarrassment of a fan overdose. They peaked in popularity during the ‘90s, yet that hasn’t stopped their die-hard followers from supporting these pop punk/heavy rock icons for a lifetime. On the heels of their greatest hits album release, Top Contenders: The Best of Strung Out, this band made up of vocalist Jason Alexander Cruz, guitarists Jake Ira Kiley and Rob Ramos, bassist Chris Aiken, and drummer Jordan Burns, play the Observatory in Santa Ana to the delight of uncompromising OC hooligans truly strung out on the band that defined their adolescence.
