Jared, who?
Departing from its health-conscious image, Subway is giving Americans what they really want: CHIPS IN ALL THINGS. The chain is testing something called the Crunchy Chicken Enchilada Melt, a sandwich stuffed with Fritos. It's available in Seattle and central Florida and may roll out nationally if it does well. One early reviewer, Shirley Qiu, deemed it “not half bad.”

“Expecting a bizarre blend of flavors and textures, I unwrapped my sandwich preparing to take only a few bites for the experience,” Qiu writes. “One bite led to another; I actually enjoyed the way these ingredients mixed. The Fritos, sprinkled evenly atop the enchilada chicken, added just enough crunch to complement the other ingredients without overpowering them. Amazingly, the sandwich also stayed intact throughout my entire dining experience. I ended up needing just one napkin.”
Seems like Subway is trying to be hip with it, having also introduced its Creamy Sriracha Sauce this year. It's a bit like when your parents join Facebook.
