Chips in menu items seems to be the best idea ever for Taco Bell these days (see: the Beefy Crunch Burrito, aka the one with Flaming Hot Fritos in it). Now, we're hearing that the Irvine chain has made a taco shell entirely out of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

Foodbeast posted this YouTube video dated back to July 2010, showing a customer taste-testing a “Doritos Locos Taco.” (His words: “Mmm. It's everything I expected and more.”)
The cheesy creation is already on the menu at a location in Toledo, Ohio, though there's no word whether it will be available nationally.
Apparently, there are Taco Bell fans who've been trying to get this thing made since 2009. A Facebook page called Taco Shells Made from Doritos Movement reads in its description: “We want taco shells and we want them made from the same cheesy goodness that is packed into ever delicious Doritos corn chip. It's as simple as that. Just imagine it.”
They've even been putting up funny images like this:
The taco sounds decent, albeit salty and probably messy on the fingers. Let's see if it heads our way–there are rumors of the Bell's location in Tustin off Red Hill offering them for a limited time…
