Let’s face it, in America, convenience is king. Americans will pursue expedience relentlessly, even if it means dragging heavy equipment to the bottom of the ocean and risking global annihilation in order to enable one more run to the gas station. The Hunger Artists Theatre Company understands this need, and will bring to the stage its production of the meta-satire The Complete History of America (Abridged) . Taking enough subject matter for late historian Stephen Ambrose to base a dissertation on, and cramming it into a 90 minute format, the play chronicles the historical unfurling of this great land. The current production, directed by Hunger Theater member Kaitlyn Tice, will feature three “experts” covering 10,000 years of history using a blend of precision comedic timing and improvisation. Don’t miss this one, it’ll go fast.
Saturdays, 5 p.m.; Sundays, 4 p.m. Starts: July 31. Continues through Aug. 14, 2010
