Hail to the chiefs of good-time garage rock! The Presidents of the United States of America are at it again, with a new tour after a three-year recording hiatus. Formed in Seattle in late 1993, original members Chris Ballew, Dave Dederer and Jason Finn brought us such bouncy alt-rock classics as “Lump,” “Peaches” and “Kitty” from their eponymous debut album. Their rule of the radio waves subsided after their indefinite break-up between 1998 and 2000, at which time all the members found their own niches in multiple quirky side projects-including a hip-hop band fronted by legendary ass man Sir Mix-a-Lot. PUSA re-emerged in 2004 with new guitarist Andrew McKeag and their own indie label, the aptly titled PUSA Inc. The band's fifth studio album, These Are the Good Times People , is slated for a March 11 release; the Presidents have big tour in front of them in the U.S., Netherlands, U.K. and Ireland. Hopefully, the Air Force One is running on a full tank.
