What's so great about the Great Park? Hang out with the Environmental Coalition for the OC Great Park and Great Park Communities-an independent coalition of 16 OC environmental groups and do-gooders particularly keen on making sure the park has nary an eco-terrible glitch-at its upcoming meeting and find out. Great Park Director Beth Krom, also known as “mayor” in Irvine, will discuss the history of the park, emphasizing what has been achieved, how it transpired and what the Great Park means for the future of Orange County. Director Michael Pinto, who has a doctorate in nonprofit organizational development and is also the founder of the Laguna Canyon Foundation, will give a presentation about the Wildlife Corridor, the renovation of the Agua Chinon stream and the Audubon International Certified Golf Course. He will also discuss the park's sustainable features and how the directors are moving forward with the development of the 27.5-acre demonstration park.
