I assume it's the same thing with coffee houses. The good names have presumably been taken. So I can't decide whether the name they've chosen for this new coffee purveyor in Santa Ana is ingenious or lazy. If you come from anywhere else but here (where cafe doesn't mean “restaurant”, but instead “coffeehouse”), it's comically redundant.
I vote for ingenious since if it were called anything else, I wouldn't be writing about it and giving them free advertising.
