If you're headed to Detroit Bar tonight expecting to see a power-pop tribute to Weezer's sophomore album, Pinkerton, you're in for a shock. The Pinker Tones are as far removed from Cuomo and company as it gets. Well, they're both quirky, but the Pinker Tones forgo crunchy guitars, analog drums and songs in English in favor of rapid-fire synth licks, programmed beats and songs in Spanish. With bouncy dance rhythms and wonky keyboard runs, you might have visions of Yes' tour bus crashing with Kraftwerk on a highway in Barcelona.
