While most of us are suffering under the sweltering summer heat, it’s nice to know that it’s springtime out there for someone, like, say, Hitler and Germany, and winter for others, like Poland and France. Yes, we’re talking about The Producers, hands down the most comical and innovative of all Mel Brooks’ genius brain children. From its humble beginnings as a feature film in 1968, to its Broadway debut in 2001, the show has flourished to this day—mostly because everyone who sees it becomes a helpless prisoner of love (blue skies above!). Bilk old ladies out of their money, run a con disguised as the worst stage show on Earth, whatever it takes to make it to The Producers now at the Maverick Theater in Fullerton.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: June 11. Continues through July 31, 2010
