Blind dates are usually pretty comical on their own—your cousin really thought this person was your type?—so putting together a comedy show with a matchmaking event seems logical. If you're single, or just need a good laugh, head to the Irvine Improv where comedians (including headliner Omid Singh) perform standup routines, regaling audiences with stories of childhood, terrible jobs, and their own dating disasters, then try to match up people from the audience. Should the two selected agree to talk more after the show, the potential date “gets a toast from the crowd and 1,000 good wishes!” If it doesn't work out, then no big deal. You still get to have a drink and enjoy a comedy show. This already sounds a hell of a lot better than eHarmony.
