After sweeping up the showers of accolades and rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Mark Stevens and Chris Larner's comedy comes stateside for its US premiere. The year is 1922, and this is the story of Anthony Marigold-Bentley, a sheltered third-class bank clerk, and his new bride Edith, a woman of the modern age with plenty of her own ideas. Together they embark on an adventure down the Amazon in search of the mysterious translucent amphibians of Quuup that Anthony once read about in a old, weathered explorer's journal. However, after the play left the Fringe Fest, critics seemed to either love it or loathe it—but any oddball story “filled to the brim with British silliness” is something we definitely want to check out. Don't miss tonight's opening performance.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: March 7. Continues through March 22, 2014
