Alright guys, I'm going to make it short and sweet. Wednesday night, you don't have any reason to drive drunk. Just don't do it. It's 2014 / will be 2015, if no one wants to DD, you can get a Lyft or an Uber or a taxi or a black car. Heck, even if you can't leave your car somewhere for a night (if you can't, don't take your car out), you can call AAA's Tipsy Tow service. They'll be servicing Orange County. Details after the jump.
]
The service is being offered by the Automobile Club of Southern California, and will be available from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31 to 6 a.m., Jan. 1. Don't be dumb and use it as your plan A, but if you somehow find yourself in a situation where you need it (or your dumb drunk friend is attempting to drive home), you can call 1-800-400-4AAA. They'll tow you up to seven miles for free. Just tell them “I need a Tipsy Tow.”
Some limitations: The tow truck drivers will only take the car drivers with them, so if you're a passenger, you should probably rethink who you get to drive you. Also, if you go over seven miles, expect to be charged the standard tow rate.
But really, no one should be calling Tipsy Tow, because you're all going to have DDs or Ubers or Lyfts or taxis, right? It might be expensive, but you know what else is expensive? Dying. (I'm assuming Uber and Lyft will have their street teams out in force, but if you need a credit, tweet me @charlesnlam).
But yeah, have a Happy New Year everyone. See you in 2015.
