It’s an early afternoon gig at a museum but expect a full rockin’ house for another in the Timeless Melodies series hosted by historian and music appreciation booster Larry Maurer. His “homemade” popular— and pop— multi-media audio-video mash-up lectures on Gershwin, American musicals and more pack ‘em in, especially seniors and families. This week Maurer DJs a sonic time-travel trip through 1960s music, Part II of his “The Times They are A-Changin,” Beach Boys to Bobby Rydell, Bob Dylan to the Lovin’ Spoonful, Rolling Stones to Neil Sedaka. Bring the kids, who may not know these tunes, and grandma and grandpa, who were there and probably remember, or don’t, as they say of the ‘60s. Oldsters and youngsters alike will dig this groovy mini-happening with plenty of sing-alongs.
