Tonight, Santa Ana intersection of Fourth Street and French is the place to be in Orange County as fans remember the late-musical icon that is Nipsey Hussle in a star-studded candlelight vigil.
Orchestrated by OC-native and popular radio personality DJ Carisma and Konsept founder Tyson Pruong, fans will gather to remember and celebrate the remarkable life of the Grammy-nominated recording artist, born Ermias Asghedom with a two-hour block of his music.
“If you loved Nip and wanna come light a candle or let off balloons, all are welcome,” Carisma says.
Tonight’s vigil will be hosted at Santa Ana’s Calle Cuatro Plaza. Invited guests include OC’s biggest Hip Hop artists Phora, Yung Pinch, and G-funk legend Warren G . Since his death, fans all over Orange County have poured out support for the slain artist and his family. Last Saturday, DJ Carisma, along with DJ Amen, dedicated an entire episode of “Live from the Westside” in honor of Neighborhood Nip.
Hussle once credited Carisma and her Young California movement as one of his earliest endorsers in the music industry. Young California is a leading group of California DJs known for breaking West Coast Hip Hop music. Young California currently hosts radio shows on Sirus XM and TuneIn.
After his passing, Carisma took to Instagram to remember her last conversation together with Hussle on TuneIn.
Honoring his life, fans are invited to assemble with candlelit, memorabilia, and share a final farewell to the artist, mentor, and community leader. Before his death, Nipsey Hussle was an advocate against gun-violence, prison reform, and entrepreneurship.
Hussle will be laid to rest this Thursday (April 11) in Los Angeles with a sold-out service at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles. Free tickets to the service sold out the 21,000 seaters in less than 20-minutes Tuesday morning.
Nipsey Hussle’s Candlelight Vigil takes place at Calle Cuatro Plaza in Santa Ana, tonight, Apr.10, at 6 p.m.
