The long, narrow shop, which is the furthest thing from satanic, has changed many times; currently, it features floor-to-ceiling racks dripping with black lace, red stripes and sexy corsets. Once kids get over Hot Topic, they migrate here, where Kennedy sells a wealth of esoteric books on demons, magic and pagan practices. However, the Goth community isn't what it used to be. Kennedy explains that many clubs have disappeared because of the economy, taking with them the need to buy costumes for dressing up, but she remains committed to the craft.
“At least this is a place where people know they can go and not be judged,” Kennedy says. “I don't care if you're Catholic or Buddhist—we're all about whatever works for you.”
