If you're in a tribute band, you've got an uphill battle. First, you get little respect from other musicians, who see your group as a money-hungry impersonator—performers on a par with street mimes. Second, if you've actually got the balls to pay tribute to a rock legend, you better hope you've got your shit dialed-in so you don't offend the hardcore fan base. Of course, if it's done right, tribute performances can better than the real thing. Needless to say, the acts in this evening's lineup are an ambitious lot. Paying homage to Tom Jones; Ozzy Osborne; the late, great Randy Rhodes; and, of course, the pinnacle of prog rock, Rush. Go and appreciate the fact that you're not onstage.
