Ale lovers of Orange County, strap on those beer-hats and elastic-waist pants, the Ultimate Beerfest hits the Fairgrounds this weekend. With two three-hour sessions, one beginning at noon and one at 6 p.m., thirsty patrons can imbibe on endless samples of craft beers from top brewers (Kona Brewing Co., Firestone Walker, Red Hook, Backstreet Brewery and Leinenkugel's, just to name a few) as well as nosh from food trucks and vendors such as Kogi, the Greasy Wiener and Sushi Pirate. You've got three hours to indulge, so pace yourself (VIP admission gets you an extra hour and beer competition judging privileges). But all gluttony aside, proceeds benefit Villa Chardonnay, a non-profit horse rescue operation. And for your benefit, we recommend securing that designated driver or taxi ride before you go.
