UPDATE, MARCH 23, 5:36 P.M.: It's official. Adam Kennedy, a former Angels second baseman, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence, the OC district attorney's office announced today. The current Mariners player, who was stopped on the evening of Jan. 26, was charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol, and one count of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or more. Both charges are misdemeanors. Kennedy will be back in court on June 21.
ORIGINAL POST, JAN. 27, 6:28 P.M.: Adam Kennedy, once the toast of the Anaheim Angels (before all this Los Angeles nonsense) for his play during the 2002 World Series, was released from jail this morning after being arrested on Wednesday evening for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Around 9 p.m., Kennedy was driving north on the 73 tollway when he was stopped by the California Highway Patrol, according to the LA Times.
Currently playing for the Seattle Mariners, Kennedy was held overnight, then released from Men's Central Jail around 6 a.m. this morning.
Kennedy, 35, played second base for the Angels during the 2002 World Series victory. He was signed this month to the Mariners after stints with the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics and the Washington Nationals.
