While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn. I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy. Twitter should ban my mother.
UPDATE, April 11, 2012, 12:34 p.m: Dave Grohl just released a statement, and it's as sane and lucid as Courtney Love's twitter rants are not. Here goes:
“Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”
Original post, 11:34 a.m., April 11, 2012: Just when you thought things couldn't get weirder in the life and times of Courtney Love, they certainly did. Last night on her private Twitter account, the ex-wife of Kurt Cobain accused his former bandmates and her longtime adversary, Dave Grohl, of hitting on her 19-year-old daughter, Frances Bean. Normally, this news would have been pounced on by the paparazzi, but considering the source, it's difficult to imagine that this is true.
Though it sounds alarming, I can't believe that anything she says is true, even with her own daughter. Here's the long and short of the situation. The former Mrs. Cobain's accusations claimed that her estranged daughter's roommate informed her that the Foo Fighters singer hit on Frances. This naturally led to an extensive thread threatening Grohl and speculated on his “pathology,” noting that Foo's drummer Taylor Hawkins looks like Cobain and is in the “submissive drummer position” in the band (ironic since Grohl was Nirvana's drummer), and that he named his daughter Violet, (the name of one of Love's biggest hits), which in her eyes, further demonstrates his obsession with all things Cobain. Holy shit, I think of all the things that Love has done (remember in November when she went off on him when she saw a fan in Brazil carrying a Cobain banner?), this may take the cake.
Antics and past aside, does she really think that Grohl, who's married and lives in the Valley with his family, and is a fixture on the sushi circuit out there, would possibly be willing to risk pretty much everything he has and his sterling reputation as one of rock's good guys to sleep with his former bandmates's kid? Really? Does that make ANY sense to any logical person?
Maybe, just maybe I have a conclusion: is Courtney Love in love with Dave Grohl? Why else would this one-sided feud be going on for nearly two decades? Perhaps Love thinks so highly of the guy that she has suppressed feelings towards her ex's bandmate and this is her way of acting out. When you hate a person so much, is it true that you love them, or are you just so unaware and so batshit crazy that you really hate them? In the case of Courtney Love, who the hell knows what she's really thinking.
