We're just going to continue with Earth Day celebrations through the rest of the year. Keeping on trend is the Urban Ocean Festival held this weekend at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Highlighting our unique city-to-sea relationship, the family-friendly fest presents an array of ocean environment activities and entertainment. On hand is the “Trashin' Fashion” fashion show (eco-friendly clothing is made from recycled materials), a poetry contest, sustainable seafood cooking demonstrations, boat cruises, mural painting, games, an art exhibit and live music. The Urban Ocean Festival seeks to increase awareness and appreciation for our watery neighbors—so quit throwing cigarette butts off the pier, will ya?
