It’s finally February, which means that the time to honor the Lunar New Year is upon us, and the Tet Festival lands in Orange County. Celebrate the change of season and the year of the monkey with the different festivities taking place this weekend at OC Fair & Event Center. Today’s activities include a ceremonial procession where individuals are dressed in traditional regal garments and march to the ancestral altar; a lion dance performance to bring blessings and good fortune; community dances and performances, a talent show, martial arts demonstrations and more. Plus, there will be vendors, a short film contest, gorgeous floral arrangements, pageants, banh mi and pho eating contests spread out throughout the weekend’s schedule. Take part in an annual, beloved holiday as part of the rich Vietnamese culture.
