Pacific City gained another fully operational tenant this past Friday, as Ways & Means began service. We moseyed up to the bar for a quick bite and to gather intel. Offering a completely different menu from their first location, Justin Odegard oversees the bustling kitchen.
A departure from the fixer upper in Orange, this open, airy space looks directly out to the ocean. We spotted familiar light fixtures in the mixed layout of communal, casual dining and bar/lounge seating. Offering an ambitious selection, our eyes gravitated towards dressed oysters and a quartet of ice cream sandwiches (cookie dough with sea salt caramel ice cream!).
Weekend brunch and daily specials mean more reasons to drop in to see how they’ve changed. Also of note, a wine list grouped by price range. We anticipate some lazy afternoons in our future.
Ways & Means Oyster House is located at 21022 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, (714) 960-4300; www.wmoysters.com.
