Our favorite ’90s Riiot Grrl PJ Harvey has announced a new album titled The Hope Six Demolition Project.
The album, to be released April 15, will be the songstress’s ninth studio album. The songs document Harvey’s experiences travelling in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington, DC.
“Gathering information from secondary sources felt too far removed for what I was trying to write about,” Harvey says. “I wanted to smell the air, feel the soil and meet the people of the countries I was fascinated with.”
Aside from a slew of five-star reviews, the most impressive feat of The Hope Six Demolition Project was the artfulness of its creation. Harvey recorded the album as an exhibition at London’s Somerset House, where fans could spend 45 minutes at a time watching the recording process.
