Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale Talks About Limits And Possibilities

Andrew Stockdale, frontman of the Australian rock band Wolfmother, is best known for producing gargantuan riffs and having gargantuan hair. The band released their fourth studio album, Victorious, last month.

“People are going [to say] ‘that sounds like Wolfmother’ before the vocals even start, they’re like, ‘That’s the Wolfmother sound,'” Stockdale told Loudwire. “I figured, I may as well keep doing that if it’s found its feet and it’s found its own kind of signature style, just keep exploring that approach.”

An interviewer recently described Stockdale as a creative force “who seemed to crawl out of some Black Sabbath incubating ooze to save us from our pop punk hangover and the Chili Peppers California vibes…” We doubt Anthony Kiedis will appreciate that colorful description.

Wolfmother will embark on a world tour after their U.S. tour ends this month. You can see them perform live on Friday, March 25, at The Observatory in Santa Ana.
