Ah, the great pleasures the Anaheim Indoor Marketplace. Aisles and aisles of cheap designer knockoffs, novelty gadgets, inexpensive clothing, and cell phone covers as far as the eye can see. Every Sunday, the Marketplace offers an array of entertainment such as Ballet Folklorico, live Mariachi music, karaoke—and, this week, Lucha fucking Libre. Specifically, our local crew, WPW Lucha Libre (which stands for World Power Wrestling). Mexico’s answer to professional wrestling, a Lucha Libre match is the stuff of campy legend—from the glittering costumes to the maniacal masks to the high-flying choreography. Watching a Lucha event is exactly how we want to spend our Sunday. Well, that and a couple of cold beers, too.
