Late lamented MTV sketch comedy show The State seems to be coming up in conversation a lot recently. The program was the primordial ooze from whence many a modern comedic genius crawled. The common thread of most of the State bred comedians is a sense of absurdity, the humorous possibilities of acting like a complete idiot, and, frequently, filthy, filthy jokes. Appropriately enough then comes Sex AKA Weiners and Boobs , written by State rs Joe LoTruglio, Michael Showalter, and David Wain, the production promises musical numbers, a fog machine, audience participation and a scene from David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross . You should probably leave the kids at home for this one. If the play contains even a third of the gratuitous blow job scenes of Showalter and Wain's Stella videos, you'll have a lot of explaining to do.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Feb. 28. Continues through March 15, 2008
