Other than time traveling, there’s really nothing more fun than parallel universes where the absurdities we’ve grown accustomed to are suddenly turned on their ear – sometimes making them less absurd, and usually making a pointed comment on the “norms” we’ve come to accept. Theatre Out’s new production, the Tim Acito musical, Zanna Don’t!,transports us to such a world, where heterosexuality is out and the gays are in. Much like High School Musical, Zanna is fraught with teenaged love, and one very usual couple who must keep their relationship a secret – this time it’s breeders Kate and Steve, whose hetero kiss throws the town into utter chaos. Dude, that is so STRAIGHT!
