It's time again for the annual Long Beach Zombie Walk, where thousands of the undead gather together as one massive herd to roam the streets. But this gruesome festival reanimates itself a little differently from years past—held now at Marina Green Park, the 2012 Zombie Walk is an all-out carnival of decaying flash, lose eyeballs and blood smeared across everything imaginable. This year features two stages with more than a dozen zombified bands (Undead Kennedys! Hell yes!), an outdoor screening of Shaun of the Dead, carnival games, a zombie passport that includes deals on food, booze and shops all over the city, and, of course, a mass dance to MJ's “Thriller.” So tatter your clothes, paint some black circles around your eyes, practice your shuffle—and prepare yourself for one of the best Halloween parties period. Proceeds benefit the Long Beach Cinematheque.
