Jason “Mayhem” Miller, who seems to have never met an Orange County jail cell he has not been tossed into, has been arrested yet again.
This time it was in Costa Mesa, at Saddle Ranch Chop House at The Triangle, where security guards tackled the former mixed martial arts fighter around 2 a.m. Sunday after he allegedly attacked a woman. A guard was injured and a police officer was spat on trying to subdue a “heavily intoxicated” Mayhem, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department. Miller was taken to a hospital because his face was bleeding, then booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of assault and battery, assault on a police officer and public intoxication.
Not that we want to diminish the dangers or assault (and spitting), the arrest provides something else as well: an excuse to revisit classic Mayhem booking photos:
Does his hair above remind anyone else of those orange, red and yellow popsicles we used to slurp as kids? No? Just me? Anyways, the above mugshot came after a February arrest in Irvine. Around 1:30 a.m. on a Sunday, Irvine Police pulled over a Subaru sedan at Spectrum and Enterprise. A sobriety test determined Miller, the driver, was drunk, say police, who add the 35-year-old was booked at Orange County Jail for alleged driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test.
Which brings us to …
That one was for Miller’s alleged vandalization on Jan. 27 of the Stay Ready Tattoo shop in Lake Forest, where he was accused of painting graffiti on a brick wall outside. That brought the fighter a bust for alleged felony vandalism and committing a crime while out on custody on another offense. He pleaded not guilty in March.
So here comes …
Miller was arrested in October after reportedly being aggressive and uncooperative when deputies responded to a call about a potential domestic disturbance at his Mission Viejo home. Deputies claim they arrived to hear a woman scream, and when Mayhem was confronted he allegedly had a temper tantrum that had him throwing a bunch of ceramic tiles—and receiving a zap from a cop taser.
Speaking of scrums with peace officers …
In March 2015, the brawler reportedly broke a glass during a disturbance inside the White House restaurant in Laguna Beach before running down South Coast Highway, where he was surrounded by police.
He was lated accused of kicking at and spitting on four cops as they tried to take him into custody, which they finally did—with six officers total stuffing Mayhem into the back of a cruiser.
There’s video from this one, too:
Meanwhile, back at Casa de Mayhem …
Orange County sheriff’s deputies went to Mayhem’s home in August 2013 because he’d allegedly roughed up his girlfriend during an argument over a text message on his phone. Deputies say she was left with bruises on her limbs and cuts on her face. In an interview with OC Weekly’s R. Scott Moxley, Miller vehemently denied he is a “wife beater.” His booking photo resembled a head shot from a live action Aladdin.
Sounds like someone needs to go to church …
HE DID! Three months after a loss in the octagon to C.B. Dollaway that prompted UFC president Dana White to deem Mayhem’s UFC career was over, Miller was found by deputies early one morning in August 2012 naked inside Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo.
A window was broken, books and CDs were scattered about and the first floor was covered in fire extinguisher retardant.
The church pastor ultimately turned the other cheek, declining to press charges against Mayhem.
A judge later dismissed the case.
