The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival turned 20 years old this year with headliners Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande. The first day drew lower than normal temperatures for the annual gathering on the Empire Polo Fields in Indio. Friday included great performances by Janelle Monae, Calypso Rose, Hurray for the Riff Raff, U.S. Girls, Kacey Musgraves, Mon Laferte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Rufus Du Sol, BLACKPINK first US performance, 88Glam, Anderson .Paak, and the return of H.I.P.O.
